Yeti SB5 Beti
Built on the legendary Switch Infinity patented suspension system T]the Beti delivers 127mm (5in) of rear travel via a top-end Factory series Fox Float shock. Giving this bike a bottomless feel on rocky terrain but at the same time just the right amount of resistance when climbing on technical singletrack.
Riders are reporting snappiness and speed more akin to a lightning-fast cross-country bike than a 5-inch trail bike. This may be in part thanks to the full-carbon frame that incorporates a tapered head tube, integrated chain slap protection and a chunky down tube protector to ward off rocks. The external cable routing is tidy, and there’s a direct mount for a front derailleur should you want to add more gears. So you won’t get hung up in brushy terrain with a derailed full of wildflowers and the bike is less likely to gunk up if it starts raining on your ride.
The Shimano XT brakes on our Yeti were attached to a female-friendly, read not too wide, 720mm Easton bar fitted with small-diameter grips as well. Topped a female specific designed WTB Deva saddle to perch on this bike is all woman. Yeti even made the Thomson Elite Covert Dropper with 125 mm of rise a factory feature. To us this just shows how much Yeti respects today’s female riders.
Other high points on this bike include a high modulus carbon fiber main frame and swing arm and class-leading standover height, details that make the bike all the more comfortable. Performance and handling comes from the Collet axle system on pivots reduces bearing wear with integrated ISCG-05 mounts. This bike is loaded with everything you need and nothing you don’t.
