The Colorado brand says its newfangled suspension is even better than its previous excellent iteration.
Earlier this month, Yeti unveiled its new 27.5 mountain bike, the SB5c, which is built around a suspension system unlike any you’ve ever seen.
It’s called Switch Infinity, and it’s the next generation of the company’s much-heralded Switch suspension technology. This results in confidence inspiring performance and amazing trail feel. As the bike starts to cycle through its travel the main pivot translates upwards along two Kashima coated shafts to create a rearward axle path.
Out on the trail, the technology in this bike can be felt while climbing, particularly through steep, rockier sections of challenging singletrack. During your first ride on the SB5c,you will be absolutely blown away by what this bike can power through. In every mode (‘Climb,’ ‘Trail’ or ‘Descend’) of the Fox Float CTD rear shock in the pedaling was precise, and the rear wheel hugged the ground like none other.
Climb with ease thanks to the efficient Shimano XT 11×46 rear cassette and a 30T chainring on the SB5 Carbon XT/SLX. Point this bike downhill and get ready to rip with the Switch Infinity suspension platform and the metric Fox Performance suspension.
This carbon-only 27.5 machine has five inches of rear travel and is built around a 5.5-inch (140mm) fork.
